- Do not eat or drink after midnight, the night before surgery.
- You may take your regular medicines with small sips of water in the morning.
- Aspirin/Motrin and other blood "thinners" are usually stopped 5-7 days before surgery.
- If you take insulin or other medicine to control diabetes, you may have special instructions for the day of surgery.
- Arrive at the hospital at least 2 hours before your scheduled procedure.
6. Bring an updated list of your current medicines and their doses with you.
