  1. Do not eat or drink after midnight, the night before surgery.

  1. You may take your regular medicines with small sips of water in the morning.

  1. Aspirin/Motrin and other blood "thinners" are usually stopped 5-7 days before surgery.

  1. If you take insulin or other medicine to control diabetes, you may have special instructions for the day of surgery.

  1. Arrive at the hospital at least 2 hours before your scheduled procedure.

6. Bring an updated list of your current medicines and their doses with you.
